SWIM CLASS term timetable
You can find session times for all our classes below. Classes are listed for 0-3 year olds, 3-14 year olds, and teens/adults, in increasing level of competency. Please look at the videos and prerequisites carefully to choose the correct level. You can also read the full class descriptions. Please contact us if you aren't sure of the right level. Classes are 30 min long with the exception of Fit 2 Squad which is 45 min. When you see a suitable spot, simply click on the session to the book yourself in.
If there are no suitable spots available, please register on our waitlist. We also recommend you check the timetable on a regular basis as changes occur throughout the term when other students move up levels or change times.

0-3 Year Olds swim classes
This parent-and-baby class is specially designed for children 3 mth - 1 year olds. We gently introduce your baby to the joys of swimming in a safe and nurturing environment. The focus is buoyancy and balance.
This parent-and-child class is specially designed for children 1-2 years old. Your child will learn how to propel themself in water, supported by you. The focus is kick and paddle to move in water.
This parent-and-child class is specially designed for children 2-3 years old and develops your child's confidence in water. The focus is independent movement in water.
3-14 Year Olds SWIM CLASSES
This beginner class is for children 3+ years old who aren't yet able to keep themself afloat and move in water independently.

In this pre-strokes class we teach your child to progress from dog paddle by developing a correct streamlined body position.
Prerequisites:

Swims dog paddle unassisted for 5m

Puts face underwater, blows bubbles and comes back up

Back floats unassisted for 5 seconds

Does safety jump from side of pool and swims back to wall
This class introduces your child to correct freestyle technique.
Prerequisites:
-
Propels themself 10m on front and back by kicking in a streamlined body position with coordinated big arms

Keeps body flat with face in water and chin to chest

Keeps legs straight with floppy feet
Note: if your child cannot hold a streamlined body position, Fit 2 Glide is a better starting point.
This class takes your child's freestyle technique to a more advanced level and introduces backstroke.
Prerequisites:
Swims co-ordinated one-sided freestyle continuously for 10m, including

Keeps face looking down in water and rolls to breathe to one side

Kicks continuously from the hips with floppy feet

Arms clear the water
Note: your child should already be competent swimming freestyle breathing to one side. If not, the Fit 2 Freestyle level would be a better fit..
This class is for children ready to swim continuous laps of freestyle and backstroke, building efficiency, speed, strength and stamina.
Prerequisites:

Able to swim freestyle and backstroke with very good technique for 20m and are ready to extend their swimming to greater distances, OR

Children 7+ years old who can confidently swim 25m without stopping but need to improve their freestyle and backstroke technique
This class introduces your child to breaststroke, as well as building on their freestyle and backstroke technique.
Prerequisites:

Swims coordinated freestyle continuously for 40m

Swims coordinated backstroke continuously for 40m

Performs standing dive
This class prepares your child for squad. It introduces the butterfly stroke, as well as building on freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke technique.
Prerequisites:

Swims backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle continuously for 40m
These squad sessions are designed for competent swimmers looking to enhance their swimming speed, strength and fitness, and prepare for competition.
Prerequisites:
-
Can swim freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke continuously and efficiently for 100m and butterfly for 50m.
Teens/Adults SWIM CLASSES
This class is designed for teens or adults who can't swim at all or can swim a length of a pool but aren't able to do sideways breathing. You will learrn freestyle swimming technique with the ultimate goal of continuous lap swimming. If you can do some form of sideways breathing and want to improve your technique, our Fit 2 Improve class is a better fit.
FIT 2 IMPROVE (TEENS / ADULTS)
This class is designed for teens or adults who want to improve their swimming stroke. The lessons will correct or enhance your swimming technique as well as build your strength, speed and endurance.
Prerequisite:

Able to swim at least 25m of freestyle with sideways breathing
Note: if you cannot swim 25m of freestyle, our Fit 2 Learn class is a better starting point
These teen/adult squad sessions are designed for competent swimmers looking to enhance their swimming speed, strength and fitness through multi-lap drills with a swim coach.
Prerequisites:

Able to swim freestyle continuously with good form for 400m

At least 14 years old. Our kids' squad sessions are better suited to under 14s.
